Bloomsburg Women's Basketball Falls to Millersville

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team dropped a Wednesday night Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) game to Millersville University by a score of 85-48. The Marauders used a balanced scoring attack to get by the Huskies with four players reaching double-digits in points.
Bloomsburg took an early 6-3 lead on a three-pointer from Kelly Joyce (Ashland/Cardinal Brennan) three minutes into the game. The Huskies held the lead at the 12-minute mark (11-9), before Millersville went on a 29-8 run over the next ten minutes to go up by 19 with two minutes to play in the half. Bloomsburg used back-to-back three-pointers from Gabe Miskinis (Lewistown/Lewistown) and Kirby Johnson (Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown) to cut the Marauder lead to 13 at 38-25 going into the locker room.
To open the second half, the Huskies used six points from Johnson to get to within seven points of Millersville at 39-32 with 16 minutes to play. However, the Marauders outscored Bloomsburg 46-16 over the next 16 minutes to close out the 85-48 lopsided victory.
Millersville (13-9, 5-3 PSAC East) was lead by Kristin Kunzman with 18 points and nine rebounds. Jamika Rehm and Jenna Philo each added 11 points while Kari Cover finished with 10 points for the Marauders.
Johnson led Bloomsburg (6-17, 2-6 PSAC East) with 15 points on the night while Miskinis added nine points and 12 rebounds. Nicole Boone (Mountain Top/Crestwood) also added nine points for the Huskies.
Bloomsburg is back in action on Saturday when the Huskies host Kutztown University at 1:00 p.m. at the Nelson Field House.
